To Whom It May Concern:

I was invited to hear retired USAF, Lt. Colonel, Michael “Moose” Moore speak at Belmont University on a subject entitled “Vigilance Reduces Vulnerabilities”. Moose is an expert in teaching students, faculty and staff the importance of developing observation skills and response techniques as a means of enhancing their own personal safety. After seeing his presentation, I knew there were others within Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) that could also benefit from this training.

I asked Moose, President of The Vigilance Group, a subsidiary of TigerSix, Inc., to provide customized training for safety issues likely to be encountered by our Attendance Officers whose jobs often take them into potentially dangerous situations when making home visits to students in the evenings and on weekends. This seminar gave our 19 Attendance Officers real world skills which improved their ability to escape harm. Several weeks later, Moose returned to provide training to over 500 school bus drivers on the subject of vigilance with a focus on the “Prevention of Bullying”. Lt. Col. Moore began the seminar by leading a lively discussion with the bus drivers concerning bullying issues they typically encounter. This discussion was followed by an interactive session taught by Patrick Terry, a highly regarded expert in the field of Krav Maga, an Israeli self-defense system. Their unique approach to teaching (and demonstrating) self-defense principles to our bus drivers was outstanding. Both seminars were very well received by those in attendance. The feedback and critiques from this half day of training made us realize our drivers received a world class seminar which we hope to repeat every year. As the Director of Security for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, I highly recommend this training to anyone wanting to enhance their personal safety through vigilance, common sense and some simple self-defense techniques.

Sincerely,
